Ipswich born 24 year old Lucy is currently ranked inside the top 30 of the PSA Women’s World Rankings, and recently won the Monte-Carlo Squash Classic.

In April 2022 Lucy was part of the team that won the Squash Euros in Eindhoven, winning the deciding match in the final to secure the trophy for England.

Lucy was also selected for the 2022 Commonwealth Games for England and competed in both singles and doubles events.

2022 for Lucy finished with her competing as part of the England team that won a bronze medal for third place in the World Team Squash Championships in Cairo

Lucy has always been very sporty. This started at an early age at Witnesham Primary School, where she loved PE lessons and Sports Day. She then played for a lot of the school sports teams at Debenham High School, including athletics, hockey and cross country running. Lucy then completed a Level 3 Btec Sport Course at Suffolk One College.

When Lucy was 8 she started gymnastics at Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club. This started off as recreational training twice a week but was soon ramped up to elite training for 3 hours, 3 nights a week and competing in competitions.

Lucy started squash when she was 9. To start with this was manageable until Lucy was expected to do more gymnastics hours and wanted to play more squash. Although Lucy loved gymnastics she knew her heart was in squash. Lucy still believes that gymnastics was a massive part of getting her strong as an athlete.

Lucy’s squash began just knocking around with her brothers and playing at the weekends. Her mum and dad worked at a local leisure club where there were squash courts, so she was in this environment from an early age. Lucy got chosen to play for England at Under 13 level and this continued throughout every age group. Throughout education Lucy fitted in training sessions around her school work, trying to maximize her time and train like a full time athlete. Impressively, while Lucy was at Suffolk One College, she won her first 2 PSA titles.

Lucy is part of the England Senior Team and academy and plays for Pontefract Squash and Leisure Club in PSL.
